Sailor Moon Liquid Eyeliner Review

The review that no one has been waiting for will be brought to you, by me!

I picked up the Sailor Moon liquid eyeliner at Don Quixote a month and a half ago. The package, which I don't have a picture of, was just too cute to resist. I'm a sucker for almost anything with Sailor Moon on it...especially "old school" Sailor Moon (sorry, Crystal fans. Though, this necklace is fab.).

Anyways, the name is "Miracle Romance Cutie Moon Rod Liquid Eyeliner." Like most Japanese liquid eyeliners it has a thin brush. I've used similar eyeliners from Kate and Tony Moly with good results. But, I was pretty disappointed in this one.

The tip was about the same size as others I've used, but it was like taking a pencil and trying to trace a line on my eyelids. Slightly more effort than Kate.

The eyeliner didn't smudge off and is fine all day, or at least for a workday. Now, it didn't smudge off because I am pretty careful about not touching my eyelashes if I have any make-up like stuff on them. However, if you were to accidentally rub your eye lightly, it would all probably rub off. When I am finished for the day, I can rub the line off with two light rubs.

What I'm trying to say is that compared to Bobbi Brown's Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner or even Kate, this stuff will come off a lot easier.

Prices start from 1,200 yen, which is USD$12 at a $1/100yen exchange rate. A little pricey. But, you get a cap that turns your eyeliner into a fucking rod, so...

Where to get it:
If you're in Japan, you can find this at Don Quixote, drugstores like Matsumoto Kiyoshi or online (Rakuten, etc.)
Outside of Japan, you'll pay a bit more on YesStyle and other sites.

Buy or pass?
If you are a make-up guru and you know your stuff, my guess is that you won't be impressed by this makeup. If you are a Sailor Moon fan, you kinda do make-up and OMFG SAILOR MOON, then yes. Because even after you've exhausted your eyeliner you have a Sailor Moon rod/stick and you can act out your Sailor Moon fantasies at home.
